Students are encouraged to participatean the 5km School Team Challenge by entering teams of 4 runners. A 1km Bunny Hop Kids Run will also be held for younger kids. In early 2007, the Government of Canada began to allow a non-refundable tax credit on eligible amounts of up to $500 paid by parents to register a child (under the age of 16) in an eligible program of physical activity. This includes An active program that is ongoing for at least 8 weeks or a day camp where your child attends 5 days in a row and is active for 50% of each day. Keep in mine programs must be supervised, suitable for children (under the age of 16) and finally a program that includes a large amount of physical activity to improve cardio respiratory endurance, plus one or more of; muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility or balance. Active Halton (formally HALNet www.activehalton.ca ), has received funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to assist them in getting the message out to resident of Halton Region about this great non-refundable tax credit.

The Georgetown Little Theatre had its beginning in an amateur theatricals evening class that was held at the Georgetown District High School during the winter and spring of 1959-60. As a grande finale the members of the evening class staged a one-act play called The Mayor of Torontal. Members of the cast included Vera Macdonald and Mary Goebel, who are still active in GLT plays today. This enthusiastic group formed the nucleus of what was to become the Georgetown Little Theatre.

The Georgetown Runners (GR) are a group of local runners in Georgetown, Ontario, CANADA who meet at Atlantis Athletics Family Fitness at Guelph Street and Mountainview at 8 AM Sunday mornings. Various groups run different distances for runs lasting 45-90 minutes. We all meet afterwards for coffee and snacks at LaVita Cafe. Smaller groups meet at other times and locations during the week for social or training runs. ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US AT ANY TIME.
